When I brought “Island In The Sea” to Aaron Myers, his first reaction was “Nancy Wilson, Stroh’s Beer.” That led me to YouTube to find one of her beer commercials for the Detroit brew from the 1970s, featuring a very hip version of the Stroh’s theme.
She’s always an inspiration.
We started the recording session at Nancy’s tempo, but soon found that a faster pace made this song sound better.
